Today we woke to rain and to be honest, we were tired. Yesterday’s walk up and down the Combes, has us feeling a little… lazy. So we hopped in the car and went for a drive. We drove through Rowberrow, Cheddar, and Burrington Combe and finally Wells (home to the oldest working clock in the world, I think. And… we didn’t take the time to see it. Oh well). I’m realizing both my dad and I don’t gravitate to the touristy hotspots.
The good news is, that my dad is getting even better at driving around these crazy narrow roads. I’m getting a little more relaxed thankfully! While my dad drives I mentally drive. I’m testing myself to see if I’ve got the rules of the road (Left-hand side of the road thing) down. Truth be told, it’s these damn round abouts! In another week, I think I’ll be able to hop in the car and navigate these roads just fine. I should mention that my dad did rent the widest car possible. If and when come back, I’ll be driving something smaller.
We got back to the hotel to meet up with relatives of my dad’s dear friend Gerry Richardson from Pender. We had a lovely dinner. Stonehenge tomorrow. Cool. (I promise to post pics of the Old Malt House for John and Peggy. Will do tomorrow!)
